Sharing experience

We would like to invite all Node Managers, independently of whether you are able to participate in the training (GNT), to consider submitting slides on the topics below.

GBIF Hosted Portals

Please use the template to prepare a slide describing your experience in developing a hosted portal.

We will select some slides to be presented during a lightning segment (3-5 minutes) during the hosted portals topic. Additionally, the slides you submit will be carefully reviewed for inclusion/reuse in the Nodes Development curriculum.

Please consider the following questions when developing your slide.

  • Why did you ask for a hosted portal?

  • How did it help your node or institution?

  • Did you previously have a website/data portal? Did the hosted portal replace it or is it still running?

  • Specific pages or features developed or implemented?

  • How do you use the portal to reach your community?

Efficient data access for data reporting

Please use the template to prepare a slide describing a data use case or data reporting requirement that you’d like to solve during the Efficient data access for data reporting session.

We will make all the submitted examples available on the module page during the event.

  • Describe a use case that is (a) non-trivial and (b) as likely as possible to be unique among the groups.

  • Describe how would you might approach the use case/data reporting requirement using the web interface, data downloads, cloud access, or SQL downloads?

  • How would this use case benefit your node, country, stakeholders, etc.
